Native soil is pnie woods, acidic. subsoil red clay. about 56 inches rain per year. Hot humid summers, dry falls, wet winters. Roses growing under overhead sprinklers. No no insecticides or disease spray (usually) , but regular use of lime-sulfur dormant spray in mid to late January.
